SIRE, Houston's Therapeutic Equestrian Center in Fort Bend County is looking for volunteers that want to make a difference in the lives of some very special riders, and if they like horses, that is a plus. SIRE provides therapeutic horseback riding and other equine-assisted activities to children and adults with disabilities at Sienna Stables.
Lauren Diggan, who volunteers at Sienna Stables says "Seeing the pure joy on the childrens's faces and watching them strengthen their bodies has been an overwhelming experience. The volunteers and people associated with SIRE are a wonderful, fun group of people! ".
New Volunteer Orientation for the Fall semester will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 6:00-8:00 pm
at Sienna Stables. SIRE volunteers should attend both the orientation and training and must be at least 14 years old [YES hours for students]. No previous horse experience is required.
By volunteering at SIRE, you can learn about people with disabilities, horses, and make new friends.
You'll gain tremendous satisfaction from watching the riders enjoy contact with horses physically, mentally and emotionally.
You will "give back to your community" while having fun!

Sienna Stables is also known for our Western Horse Shows, our English Horse Shows, and our Dressage Horse Shows in the Houston and Fort Bend County area. We offer highly coveted prizes and well run competitions judged by professionals.
Sienna Stables summer camps and day camps offer fun for Houston youths aged six through eighteen. Campers will be introduced to the wonderful world of horses through horseback riding instruction and horse care instruction, while bonding with fellow campers through a variety of fun games, crafts, and activities culminating in a performance to show off what they have learned to parents and friends.
At Sienna we also put a premium on giving back to our community, so we are proud to be one of three Houston S.I.R.E. locations. We offer S.I.R.E therapeutic programs for individuals with mental, physical and/or emotional disabilities. |
