SIRES' amazingly positive results are obtained using the spirit and movement of the horse. The teamwork of the horse, rider, volunteers and instructor creates miracles every day. Individuals with almost any mental, physical and/or emotional disability can benefit from equine-assisted activities. This includes herapeutic riding, carriage driving, vaulting and hippotherapy.
The physical and emotional benefits of horseback riding have been known for several hundred years. The movement of the horse provides sensory stimulation to the body and brain of the rider that affects a variety of muscle groups. The pelvic movement of the horse reproduces the proper motion of the human pelvis at the walk. For people who have lost that natural movement, or have never had the benefit of this stimulation, horseback riding serves to "inspire" their bodies to achieve this normal motion and improve coordination. In addition, the warmth of the horse's body and its rhythmic movements help stiff or spastic muscles to relax, much like rocking soothes a crying baby.
Fort Bend's Premiere Equestrian Center Gets Even Better!
Missouri City, Texas (October 28, 2007) – Sienna Stables owners, Laura and Cal Eller, are proud to announce that Sienna Stables has moved to a new location with new and expanded riding arenas, clubhouse, and horse stalls in Sienna Plantation at 8255 Camp Sienna Trail. Fort Bend’s finest equestrian center, Sienna Stables, held its Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on October 28, 2007 with Missouri City Mayor Allen Owen presiding and over 500 people in attendence.
"We’re proud of our reputation for quality riding instruction and deluxe accommodations raising the bar with our move to our permanent location in Sienna Plantation," said Laura Eller, co-owner of Sienna Stables and recipient of the prestigious NARHA instructor certification for therapeutic riding. "In addition to all the improvements, our second covered arena will make long stretches of hot or wet weather easier for the horses and our students, boarders, and trainers."

Welcome to Sienna Stables, the premier equestrian facility for Houston and Fort Bend County horseback riding instruction, horse show competitions, kids camps, horse boarding, horse training, and therapeutic riding.
Nestled among centuries-old shade trees in Camp Sienna, a premier 160-acre sports park along the Brazos River Corridor, you would never guess that this little slice of heaven for horses and humans alike is just 21 minutes from Sugar Land, 31 minutes from Richmond/Rosenberg, 32 minutes from Pearland, 32 minutes from the Houston Medical Center, 41 minutes from Friendswood, and 45 minutes from Katy.
Whether you are looking for acclaimed and accredited riding instruction in Western Riding, English Riding, or Dressage, you will benefit from our friendly and knowledgeable instructors. Lessons take place year round in our two outdoor and two covered arenas, and parents will love our shaded gazebos almost as much as siblings enjoy our new office facility with video games and cable TV!
Searching for a place to spoil your equine friend while indulging in your favorite hobby – trail riding or arena riding? Sienna Stables offers miles of off-site riding, and your horse will enjoy the freedom of 20 acres of shaded turnouts, 7 individually gated paddocks, and the safety and security of 8’ game fencing and an on site barn manager.
Sienna Stables is also known for our Western Horse Shows, our English Horse Shows, and our Dressage Horse Shows. We offer highly coveted prizes and well run competitions judged by professionals.
Sienna Stables summer camps and day camps offer fun for Texas youths aged six through eighteen. Campers will be introduced to the wonderful world of horses through horseback riding instruction and horse care instruction, while bonding with fellow campers through a variety of fun games, crafts, and activities culminating in a performance to show off what they have learned to parents and friends.
At Sienna we also put a premium on giving back to our community, so we are proud to be one of three Houston S.I.R.E. locations. We offer S.I.R.E therapeutic programs for individuals with mental, physical and/or emotional disability.
